What was Wrong
Numerous stakeholders wanted a way to present traffic safety information
to the public in a clear and concise manner. The information was
extremely diverse ranging from impaired driving to safe bicycling.
Action Taken
I worked with stakeholder groups from across
Alberta to assemble information on a wide variety of topics, and
then worked closely with the client to catalogue the information
into four basic subject areas for a web site. I worked
to maintain traffic to the site by providing a steady stream of
new information and using site registration and marketing techniques until March 2009.
The Results
Since its launch three in 1999, saferoads.com has maintained
a steady monthly traffic rate and has registered over 1 million unique visitors.
The client reports steady requests for further information generated
through the web site. Stakeholders continue to remain involved and
provide new information for the site.
